These terms are an agreement between you and Aprative LLC (“Aprative”, “we”, “us”), which makes Beadbar. By creating an account or using Beadbar you accept them. The Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why. If you use Beadbar for a school, the School Data Agreement also applies, and on anything about school data it controls over these terms.

1. Who can use Beadbar

You must be 18 or older. Children do not get accounts and must not use Beadbar.
Anyone can set up a school account to try it. Before any child’s information is added, a head of school who can agree to terms for the school accepts the School Data Agreement for it. Anyone who later becomes head of school accepts it too.
Keep your sign-in to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at privacy@aprative.com if you think someone else has used it.

2. Accounts and prices

Free account: the curriculum library, at no cost.
Family account: for a parent teaching their own children at home, up to 8 children. Free to try, then a paid plan, on the same terms as a school account below. The parent confirms they are the child’s parent or legal guardian.
Family access: a school can invite a child’s family members to see that child’s progress and shared reports. Family access is read-only and belongs to the school’s account; the school can end it at any time.
School account: adds classrooms, staff, and children’s records. Free to try, then a paid plan.
Charter schools: plans and prices are agreed with us in writing.

Paying for a plan

Prices are on the plans page. A head of school, or the parent for a family account, chooses a plan and pays by card on a payment page run by Stripe. Before you pay, it shows the price, any sales tax, and the date of the first charge. We never charge a card you have not given us, and no one is charged without choosing a plan.
If your free trial is still running when you choose a plan, the first charge comes when the trial ends.
Plans renew automatically, each month or each year as you chose, until cancelled. You can cancel at any time under Manage billing in your settings. The plan then runs to the end of the period already paid for, and that period is not refunded.
The Private School plan is charged per active classroom. Adding a classroom charges for the rest of the current billing year; archiving one credits the unused time to your next bill.
Sales tax is added where the law requires it.
If a payment fails, Stripe tries the card again for a short time. If it still fails, or when a trial ends without a plan, the account keeps the free account’s features and its data stays until it is deleted under section 6.
A new price never applies to a plan you already pay for until we have emailed you about it at least 30 days ahead.

3. Using Beadbar for a school

If you enter information about children, you confirm that the school has the right to share it with us for educational use, and you follow the school’s duties in the School Data Agreement. Enter only what guides need to plan and record lessons. Do not enter government ID numbers, financial account numbers, or health or disability information.

4. The curriculum content

The guides, sequences, summaries, and other content in Beadbar belong to us or are used with permission. Your account lets you use them for your own classroom, school, or home, including printing them. You may not resell them, publish them elsewhere, or copy them in bulk, including by automated means.

Where Beadbar shows official learning standards, the summaries are ours and each links to the official source. Check the official source before relying on a standard for reporting.

Beadbar is independent of any Montessori organization and does not provide teacher training or credentials. See Not affiliated.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use Beadbar to break the law, to reach data you are not allowed to see, to overload or disrupt it, or to upload anything harmful. Security testing is allowed only as Security describes. We may suspend an account that breaks these rules, and will tell the account holder why unless the law prevents it.

6. Ending your account

You can delete your own account at any time from Your account. If you are a school’s only head of school, first make someone else head, or delete the school.
A head of school can delete the school and all its data from School settings. Deletion runs 7 days after the request and can be cancelled until then.
When a school’s contract ends, the school can download its data for the number of days set in its settings (0 to 60), and then we delete it. See the Data Retention and Deletion Policy.
We may end an account for a serious breach of these terms. Unless the law requires otherwise, we give a school at least 30 days to download its data first.

7. Changes to these terms

We post each version here with its number and date. Before a material change, such as a new use of data, we email account holders at least 30 days ahead and ask you to accept it the next time you sign in. A change never applies to data collected before it without the consent of the school, or of the account holder for an account without a school.

8. Disclaimers and limits

Beadbar is provided as it is. Its guides support trained adults and do not replace their judgment about a child. We work to keep Beadbar available and correct but do not promise it will be free of errors or interruptions.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. This limit does not apply to our duties about data breaches or to anything the law does not let us limit.

9. Law and disputes

Utah law governs these terms. A school’s own signed agreement with us may name the school’s state instead. These terms bind only the people who accept them. They do not bind a parent or child, and nothing in them requires anyone to arbitrate a claim or give up the right to join a group claim.

10. General

These terms, the Privacy Policy, and for schools the School Data Agreement, are the whole agreement between you and us about Beadbar.
If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies.
We send notices to the email address on your account. Send notices to us at privacy@aprative.com.
If Aprative or Beadbar is sold or merged, these terms pass to the new owner, who must keep the promises in the Privacy Policy and School Data Agreement.
